Testimonials
Crystal – Bride
Danielle,
I can never thank you enough for the work you did on my wedding day. I know that we weren’t necessarily an easy bunch to deal with, but we appreciated your professionalism and your talent so much. Everytime I looked in the mirror, I couldn’t believe that was my face looking back at me, and even though I was a hot sweaty mess by the end of the night (we shut our own wedding dance down at 1:45am!) by the end of the night, my makeup still looked flawless!

Dear Danielle:
Thank you so much for your time today and for all the things you said. You hit on all the significant issues concerning an entrepreneurial life in a way that I never could.
The students enjoyed your presentation very much and were quite inspired by it.
My thanks again.
Sincerely,
Sarah MacDonald

Hi Danielle,
Hugh and I are now back in Toronto, after 2 weeks in Iceland and a quick visit back to Halifax.
Our wedding day was just surreal – perfect in every way, and then some.
I wanted to pass along some pictures for you, because I just loved my make up, along with my sister’s. We had so many compliments.
I also wanted to include the slideshow our photographer recently forwarded us – I think it really helps to showcase your beautiful work.
Thanks again so much, I will make sure to pass along your name to any of my friends who might be getting married in NS in the near future.
All the best,
Alyson

Danielle,
On behalf of the TADD students of Northeast Kings Education Centre, we would like to thank you for the incredible makeup work you did for us. You make it easy to understand why people in your profession are called artists.
We also appreciated your invaluable help in bringing the message about the dangers of impaired driving to the other students. Even if those students had not ‘died’ in the crash, the ‘injuries’ you created would have left some serious scars both physical and mental.
We have shared photos with students from other schools and you can expect some phone calls in the upcoming school year. They were very impressed with the impact.
I wanted to share an incident which emphasizes the quality of your work. I was at a gathering of business women and one lady wanted to take pictures. I handed her the camera and one of our ‘victims’ was displayed on the screen. She was visibly upset and concerned about how the young man had acquired the gash on his face. I explained what we had done and she showed everyone in the room to enthusiastic reviews of the realism.
Thank you again and you can be sure we will be in touch.

Quick as a Wink Theatre

RE: Danielle Mercer
To whom it may concern:
I am pleased to write this letter of reference for Danielle Mercer, who served as Makeup Artist Intern from April to mid-June this year for our stage production, Spirit. We were extremely fortunate to have Danielle on board for this comedy. Quick As A Wink Theatre Society is a non-profit, charitable community theatre society run by volunteers. We strive to bring four productions to the stage each year and endeavor to educate the public about the performing arts through hands-on experience and workshops.
As Artistic Director, and one of the founders of Quick As A Wink Theatre, I was thrilled to be contacted by Danielle in early April. Our June comedy required an experienced Makeup Artist to “age” several actors. One young man in his late twenties had to be aged to look seventy and several other male and female actors needed to look ten to twenty years older. Danielle met with the audition team, came to rehearsals, and kept in constant contact with us about our makeup requirements. During the rehearsal period she inventoried our makeup supplies, reorganized them, gave us recommendations for products, and procured theatrical makeup which we needed.
Danielle was always punctual and presented herself professionally. She showed patience and care when applying makeup and special effects to our cast members. She also taught us a few “tricks of the trade”. The results of her makeup efforts impressed our audiences and contributed to the success of the show. We could not have found a nicer, more congenial person to join our team. We would love to have her backstage with us any time she is available.
Please feel free to contact me for further information.
Yours truly,
Junie Hutchinson
